District 332 Training - A morning of shared learning

It was a morning of shared learning for 46 members from the four Singapore Inner Wheel clubs, who gathered in the Galbraith room of the American Club for D332's first training session of the year.

As participants settled in at tables named after the three core objectives of IIW—to promote friendship, encourage personal service, and foster international understanding—they were guided through the proceedings by Facilitator Wendy Louis.

The session began with a warm welcome from DC Rati, followed by some inspiring words from our IIW President Kay Morland regarding the Logo and theme for this year. This led up to IIW BD Lucy Ooi's concise and purposeful briefing on the IIW structure and the duties of the BD.

Then it was time for the table groups to reflect on the three objects of Inner Wheel and look at the deeper meaning and how we can implement these objects more effectively. The training booklet was used by the groups to reflect on the questions and make their notes.

The role of the treasurer was carefully explained by DT Janet Lim.

Next, IPDC Maria confidently took the floor, sharing her professional expertise on proper protocol, including the precise order of salutations at a formal event, what when and where regarding badges, as well as some other traditions.

The training wasn't just about listening; it was about engaging. A different kind of energy filled the room as members participated and interacted, which allowed them to immediately apply and test their new knowledge. It was a worthwhile and meaningful morning where everyone had the opportunity to learn, listen, and share.
