51st Installation Ceremony

The Rifle Lounge at the Swiss Club provided a beautiful setting for our 51st Installation Ceremony. Elegantly decorated with colourful balloons, the room was warmly welcoming. Each table was thoughtfully arranged with small floral bouquets and blue candles, while the "51st Installation" backdrop was prominently displayed on the large screen. A sumptuous buffet was beautifully presented, and attentive waiters ensured that drinks were served throughout the afternoon.

Members and guests arrived steadily, with a total of 20 members and 11 guests in attendance. Although a few members had to withdraw at the last minute due to unforeseen commitments, the turnout was nevertheless heartening.

The ceremony began with the traditional toasts, followed by the installation of our 51st President, Chew Seong Ling, who was officially installed by NR Janet.

Although Seong Ling is relatively new to the club, she has already won the admiration of many members. A former Singapore representative in water sports during her younger days, she continues to enjoy an active lifestyle through swimming and diving. She is also well known for her sewing and culinary talents. In her inaugural address, President Seong Ling reaffirmed her commitment to continuing the club's food distribution programme. She reminded us that food insecurity remains a daily reality for many families and expressed her hope that the club would continue to sustain and strengthen this meaningful community service.

The afternoon concluded on a lively note. Emi, our dance instructor, got everyone moving with an easy and enjoyable cha-cha session. DC Lipika then added an exciting cultural touch by leading members in an energetic Indian dance. Laughter filled the room as everyone joined in with great enthusiasm.

It was truly a memorable and joyful afternoon, celebrating new leadership, fellowship and friendship. Everyone left with happy hearts and smiles, looking forward to another meaningful year under President Chew Seong Ling's leadership.
