IWCSW Galloping Into The Year Of The Horse!

Amidst the vibrant chants of Chinese New Year, members of the Inner Wheel Club of Singapore West have offered generous support and an abundance of warm wishes to those in need at this auspicious time of the year.

The club began its Chinese New Year celebrations on 16th February at Block 191 Ang Mo Kio, serving bento lunches to residents who stay in the dedicated premises operated by HDB and New Hope as part of their Single Shared Facilities Project. On 26th February 110 residents were further treated to a sumptuous dinner buffet serenaded by the melodic strains of the Er Hu and the God of Fortune spreading lunar new year cheer! A donation table was also set up to offer residents the opportunity to select bedding, towels and clothes that will add comfort to their daily lives.

Running concurrently to this has been the February food distributions at seven locations in Singapore which have included additional local Chinese New Year favourites to communities who are benefitting monthly from the club’s generosity.

The club’s lunar New Year celebrations culminated in a Japanese meal at the Yamagawa restaurant on 27th February, where 28 members enjoyed a tasty omakase lunch and two new members - Elizabeth Kwok and Architramdi Priambod - were inducted into the club by President Tan Wee Ling.

In the spirit of this lunar New Year IWCSW members take this opportunity to wish our companion clubs in Singapore, Gong Xi Fa Cai - Congratulations and a Prosperous Year of the Horse!
