Welcoming Global Diplomacy: Jessica María López Piña Ambassador to Singapore of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, joins IWCSS (Inner Wheel Club, Singapore Central) strengthening international outreach and service
Along with being a remarkable point of pride, it was joy, when we learnt, in August, this year, that on a very special afternoon over an invitation of Venezuelan coffee and delectable chocolates, The Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Singapore, Her Excellency Jessica María López Piña has accepted the offer of honorary membership to the IWCSC!
This announcement culminated in another pleasant Saturday afternoon. September 14 2024 was when we welcomed Her Excellency formally.
Dr. Lucy Ooi, Advisor to IWCSC, had the distinguished honour of introducing Ambassador Jessica María López Piña, highlighting her diplomatic career. Sitting at the intersection of service, Dr. Ooi emphasized that as a young woman ambassador, Ambassador Piña, is an inspiration to women. On the one hand, serving as a representative of her nation; and community service, as a member of the IWCSC, on the other. Both these undertakings foster global service and empowerment.
Ambassador Piña served in key roles, at the Venezuelan Embassies in Brasilia, Washington D.C., and as Consul General in Miami. With a background in strategic public sector projects, she holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Fermín Toro University, Venezuela.
“Our collaboration with Ambassador Pina symbolizes a meaningful step towards addressing global challenges through local action,” stated Lipika Bhattacharya, President of the IWCSC, 2024-25. “We look forward to exploring new projects and initiatives that align with our shared goals of service and community development.”
Ambassador Pina’s inclusion marks a significant milestone, enriching IWCSC with her diplomatic experience and global perspective. Her presence is expected to further strengthen IWCSC’s international outreach, promoting collaboration and positive change across borders.
Welcome, your Excellency, we are privileged to have you on board!
