Inner Wheel Club of Singapore Central
March 2026
IWCSC Working with Children and families
On Sunday, 1 March 2026, President Natasha Karanjia, Puja Surtani, Bharti Surtani, Elaine Ward and her daughter, DC Rati Asrani, Swastika Ghosh and Kah Lin (Leng) of the Inner Wheel Club of Singapore Central gathered at Star Shelter, operated by the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO), to share joy and togetherness with its residents. Together we celebrated the spirit of Chinese New Year through an afternoon filled with joy, connection, and heartfelt giving. The afternoon came alive with a vibrant Lo Hei, tossing ingredients high while exchanging heartfelt wishes for prosperity and happiness. A delicious lunch followed, creating a relaxed space for conversations and new friendships to blossom. Energy and laughter filled the room as games took centre stage. From a spirited “Pin the Tail on the Horse,” organised by club member Elaine in celebration of the Year of the Horse, to an engaging Chinese New Year quiz led by Club President Natasha, every moment was designed to include and uplift. It was more than a celebration—it was a heartfelt expression of community, care, and festive cheer.
On 18 March 2026, during the school mid-term break, President Natasha Karanjia, DC Rati Asrani, Catherine Gwee and Hetty Vosselman from Inner Wheel Club of Singapore Central brought energy and encouragement to Sunbeam Place @ Children’s Society—a residential home and place of safety for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or challenging family circumstances. We started our day with colour, care, and community spirit. In a vibrant tie-and-dye T-shirt workshop, creativity took centre stage. With every swirl of colour, the children expressed their individuality while building confidence and joy. Our members worked side by side with the youths, transforming plain white shirts into unique works of art—each one a symbol of resilience and hope. More than just an activity, the event created a space for laughter, connection, and self-expression. It was a meaningful reminder that small acts of kindness can leave lasting impressions. We are proud to support and uplift these young individuals, proving that with care, creativity, and community, brighter futures can be shaped—one colourful moment at a time.
