February 2026

IWCSC Outreach to vulnerable communities

This February, just ahead of Chinese New Year, our club proudly delivered two consecutive days of meaningful service that brought comfort, joy, and practical support to vulnerable community members.

On 9 February 2026, President Natasha Karanjia, Vice President Puja Surtani, Dr. Hetty, and District Chairman Rati Asrani visited T Project’s shelter in Singapore for a heartening outreach. As part of our ongoing commitment to community care, the team distributed NTUC vouchers to residents—many young transgender adults—helping ease expenses and enabling dignified festive celebrations. The session opened at 5:00 pm with a warm welcome from T Project’s founder. Members spent time building rapport through friendly conversation, and the voucher distribution took place in a cheerful, grateful atmosphere. DC Rati Asrani’s presence uplifted both volunteers and beneficiaries, reinforcing the solidarity and compassion that define our club’s mission.

The following day, on 10 February 2026, our delegation—President Natasha Karanjia, VP Puja Surtani, Dr. Hetty, Bharti Surtani, and District Chairman Rati Asrani—visited AWWA’s Kindle Garden, Singapore’s first inclusive preschool. The visit aimed to observe inclusive pedagogy, learn evidence-based practices, and deepen partnerships with organisations addressing unmet needs. We presented a S$1,500 donation to support Kindle Garden’s programmes. During the visit, we observed a thoughtfully integrated curriculum that promotes natural language development, independence, curiosity, and problem-solving. Purpose-built facilities—sensory corners, visual supports, and accessible play equipment—create a welcoming environment for children with diverse needs, while staff prioritise social-emotional learning to prepare children for primary school success.

These back-to-back initiatives strengthened our community ties and reaffirmed our commitment to inclusivity, friendship, and sustained service. We remain dedicated to supporting vulnerable families through advocacy, partnership, and hands-on care—bringing warmth and practical assistance when it matters most.
