IWCS Members Harvesting Together at GSSC

Five IWCS members recently volunteered at Good Shepherd Student Care (GSSC), where they  helped harvest vegetables from their garden. The GSSC has around 200 girls in the after-school care programme, many from homes where life is often challenging economically.

The experience highlighted the value of sustainable food practices and healthy eating habits, while also reminding us of the patience and teamwork required for gardening. Seeing the children’s excitement as they took part in the harvest made the activity both fun and educational.

GSSC has been a long-term service partner of IWCS, and the Veggie Plot initiative is one of several collaborations we have with the after-school care program at Marymount Convent School. As the young gardeners continue tending to the plot, we look forward to returning and supporting this meaningful activity in the months ahead.
